By foot/bike from the train station

This is the best way to get a first glimpse at the city!
Just walk down from the Train Station ‘St Charles’ to the Vieux Port.

1 . Walk down the big white marble stairs (with lions) at the same level as the trains,
2. Walk down the street first called “Boulevard d’Athènes” then “Boulevard Dugommier” until you reach “La Canebière
3.  Turn right onto Canebière (the local ‘Champs Elysées, you can’t miss it) and walk down to the port “Vieux Port“,

4. …and you will hit the Vieux Port in about 10 min.

5. Once at the Vieux Port, turn left and take the large street first called “Cours Jean Ballard” then “Rue Breteuil” that starts after the fountain on your right (at the rounded yellow building).
The hostel is at number 12 on Rue Breteuil, right side of the street, just after the pharmacy and before the flower shop ‘Interflora‘, buzz at ‘Hello Marseille‘, and we await for you on the 3rd floor.

Free City Bikes

If you are a bit tired or if your backpack is too heavy to carry, “Le Vélo” Free City Bikes are available at the bike station down the white stairs. For a 1 euro ticket, you’ll be able to use bikes all the week around the city, an investment worth the benefit ;). (Note: Credit Card is necessary to subscribe. Free for 30″, then you have to change bike and go again for 30 free minutes)
